Overview: November 3 - 9, 2025
MAJOR SHIFTS: In this powerful year of 2025, it seems there have been several times where I've looked at the planetary aspects that would unfold over the coming week and thought, "Well, this is an important week!" This coming week—the first full week of November—is another one of those periods that feels highly significant, when we are likely to experience some major shifts.
The influences we'll be working with over the next seven days include the ongoing effects of the revelatory Jupiter-Eris square, Mars' ingress into Sagittarius and immediate opposition to surprising Uranus (Tuesday), a Full Moon in resourceful Taurus (Wednesday), Venus entering Scorpio (Thursday) and squaring Pluto (Friday), Uranus' return to Taurus (Friday), and Mercury stationing retrograde (Sunday).
JUPITER-ERIS EFFECT: The square between generous Jupiter and controversy-stirring Eris was exact to the degree on November 2—however, this aspect will be a potent influence throughout the coming month due to Jupiter being at a virtual standstill at 24 to 25 degrees of Cancer. The effects of the Jupiter-Eris square, which are very strong as we begin this week, will no doubt peak again around November 11, when Jupiter stations retrograde, and again at the end of the month, when the Giant Planet precisely squares Eris for the second time (November 25).
Under this influence, we are acutely aware of situations in which people have been ignored, abused, traumatized, or otherwise mistreated. Our sensitivity to those who have felt unseen is magnified, and we may feel especially protective of anyone who appears vulnerable. Uncomfortable truths are revealed and emotions run high.
Jupiter and Eris will be exactly square a third time, on June 9, 2026. The controversies that are being stirred this month may arise again around that time, or perhaps find conclusion.
MARS-URANUS EFFECT: When Mars opposes Uranus this Tuesday, it will be the third crisis point in the current Mars-Uranus synodic cycle. A synodic cycle begins when two planets are conjunct (at the same degree) and lasts until their next conjunction. We are most likely to see significant events related to the meanings of the two planets at key dates within that cycle, when the two planets are in hard aspect to each other.
Mars is the planet of energy and assertive action, while Uranus is known for being rebellious, enterprising, and unpredictable. When these two forces of nature interact, people could act impulsively or in shocking ways. The need to be free of restrictions is especially strong, causing some to take unexpected risks or to be confrontational or combative.
Themes of social justice and equality can arise as Mars in principled Sagittarius opposes Uranus in thoughtful Gemini. Breakthroughs can occur, but also breakdowns—if necessary change has been blocked in some way. Those who have key planets or points in their natal charts in the last degree of a fixed sign (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius) or in the first degree of a mutable sign (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces) may feel the effects of this opposition more personally.
The current Mars-Uranus synodic cycle began on July 15, 2024 when the two planets aligned at 26°19' Taurus. Other key dates in the cycle include June 15, 2025 (waxing square), November 4, 2025 (opposition), and February 27, 2026 (waning square). A new synodic cycle begins on July 3, 2026, when Mars and Uranus conjoin in early Gemini (03°52').
SUPER FULL MOON: The peak of the current lunar cycle occurs this Wednesday at 5:19 a.m. PST, when the Moon at 13°22' Taurus opposes the Sun at the same degree of Scorpio. This Full Moon will be a Supermoon, occurring when the Moon is at its closest proximity to Earth, and will visually appear larger than other lunations.
A Full Moon usually exaggerates emotions; since this one is a Supermoon, it may have an even stronger pull on our physical and emotional bodies. With Luna in earthy Taurus, we are advised to stay grounded and to connect with nature and beauty in all its forms.
This lunation is conjunct the Taurus Point of Avatar. According to astrologer Mary Elizabeth Jochmans, this point "deals with learning to love self and others in a detached, unselfish, unconditional way. It is the point of service to humanity and being able to go with the flow of the Divine." Ms. Jochmans also writes, "This point supports a bringing together into a global mandala the new sounds, symbols, colors, etc., for the planet. It carries the vision of the ideal for a New Earth and a New Humanity."
VENUS-PLUTO EFFECT: Venus, the goddess of Love and Beauty, enters passionate Scorpio on Thursday and immediately forms hard aspects with Uranus, Sedna, and Pluto. These aspects all point to the possibility of significant changes in relationships, values, or financial matters toward the end of the coming week. With Venus quincunx both Uranus and Sedna in Gemini, we could feel restless or impatient with the status quo in these areas.
The square to Pluto, which perfects on Friday, is the strongest of the aspects involving Venus, and amplifies the level of emotional intensity in the areas of concern. We might be suspicious that all is not what it appears to be; the drive for truth can uncover discomforting secrets. The need to maintain power and control can cause some to be manipulative, possessive, or coercive.
MERCURY RETROGRADE: Mercury stations retrograde next Sunday, November 9, at 11:01 a.m. PST. The Messenger Planet will move backward through Sagittarius, re-enter Scorpio on November 18, and station direct on November 29.
During this three-week period, we are invited to take a deeper dive into what we believe (Sagittarius) and also into our motivations (Scorpio). Much can be uncovered that will be helpful to us going forward. We may want to be especially conscious of the thoughts and emotions that arise on November 12, when Mercury conjoins Mars.
DAILY ASPECTS THIS WEEK (November 3 - 9, 2025):
Here are my brief interpretations of this week's most important aspects, day by day:
Monday
Venus quincunx Saturn: Relationships and alliances are going through an adjustment period now. We might feel more distant or removed from loved ones.
Mars trine Neptune: This aspect helps us be more comfortable in letting intuition and creative inspiration guide our steps. It also supports us in acting on our compassion or in alignment with our higher values and vision.
Tuesday
Mars enters Sagittarius: Mars will journey through the sign of the Archer from November 4 to December 15. During this six-week period, we may feel a bit restless, be more spontaneous, and eagerly embark on new adventures. We are also more likely to take action based on higher principles and in support of a cause we believe in.
Mars opposite Uranus: People can be very impatient and act impulsively or in unexpected ways with this aspect. The need for freedom is heightened and there is strong resistance to any form of control. Confrontations are possible, especially in situations that are restrictive in some way.
Pluto trine Sedna: A major change is underway, on deep psychological levels. We are in the process of transmuting the pain of past experiences of deception and betrayal. As we surrender to this process of death and rebirth, we release the victim role and become more spiritually empowered.
Wednesday
Full Moon: The Full Moon reaches its peak at 5:19 a.m. PST this morning, when the Moon is at 13°22' Taurus opposite the Sun at the same degree of Scorpio.
Thursday
Mars opposite Sedna, Mars sextile Pluto: The urge to fight for a moral cause or in support of an ideal is especially strong.
Venus quincunx Neptune, Sun sesquiquadrate Neptune: Confusion can interfere with our ability to clearly assess the reality of a situation.
Venus enters Scorpio: While Venus is in the sign of the Scorpion and the Eagle, there is a need for greater depth and honesty in all our relationships. We value intimacy and intensity and dislike anything superficial. Possessiveness and jealousy are the shadows of this transit.
Venus quincunx Uranus: We are restless with the status quo and may be drawn to try something new and different. This can be in the areas of relationship, creativity, or how we use our financial resources.
Friday
Uranus returns to Taurus: After spending four months in Gemini, Uranus revisits Taurus from November 7, 2025 to April 25, 2026. During this time, we are called to redefine our foundational values. Uranus will be breaking down a stubborn resistance to change that is based on attachment to the status quo. It is freeing us from reliance on traditions and what is familiar, so that we might be more open to the new insights and information that will be accessible during the Uranus-in-Gemini years.
Venus quincunx Sedna, Venus square Pluto: Relationships and alliances may experience major shifts now.
Saturday
Sun trine North Node: This aspect helps us to align with our spiritual values and to release the fears and emotions that do not serve us or the higher good.
Sunday
Mercury stations retrograde: Mercury comes to a standstill today at 11:01 a.m. PST. The Messenger Planet will travel retrograde until it stations direct on November 29.

If Your Birthday Is This Week (November 3 - 9):
This year, you may notice a gradual shift in what you find important in life. You could feel a lack of enthusiasm about goals you used to have. At first, this might feel disconcerting, since core pieces of our identities tend to be based on what we have attained or accomplished. Over time, you will feel more comfortable in letting go of old attachments that no longer serve you. You are learning to flow with rather than to force an agenda. (Solar Return Sun sesquiquadrate Neptune)
