Overview: February 23 - March 1, 2026

CONVERGENCE ZONE: We are in a time of significant flux as we navigate the convergence of three powerful cosmic energy streams—one emitted by last week's Solar Eclipse in Aquarius (February 17), another radiating from next week's Total Lunar Eclipse in Virgo (March 3), and the third emanating from Saturn and Neptune as they align in Aries.

This week, we continue our journey through the "eclipse passageway," the two-week period between eclipses when life seems surreal and major events are most likely to unfold. The exact halfway point between the eclipses is the First Quarter Moon, which occurs this Tuesday, February 24, at 4:27 a.m. PST. It is around this time that we may see direct evidence of the impact and intentions of this current pair of eclipses.

THE UNRAVELING CONTINUES: The Great Unraveling that is underway, initiated by the Saturn-Neptune alignment, will be strongly apparent for many weeks to come. While the exact conjunction of the two planets occurred on February 20, their energy fields continue to comingle through at least the end of May. At that point, Saturn will be eight degrees ahead of Neptune, so technically "out of orb" of their conjunction and perhaps providing some easing of the intense unraveling phase.

However, the two planets will be within 11 degrees of each other through the end of August, and will again be within the conjunction's eight-degree orb by mid-October. In early December, when both planets station direct, they will be separated by only seven degrees. Saturn will finally move out of orb of its alignment with Neptune in early February 2027.

THE MARS-URANUS EFFECT: Creating sparks this week is a challenging aspect between Mars in Aquarius and Uranus in Taurus. The square perfects on February 27 but will be in effect for several days before and after that date.

When energizer Mars interacts with disruptive Uranus, events tend to occur suddenly or in surprising ways. Since this is a hard aspect, symptoms on a personal level can include impatience, frustration, and unexpected or irrational anger. The urge to rebel against restrictions is strong, and yet we are cautioned about acting too impulsively. Those who have natal planets or points in late degrees of fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius) may be most strongly affected by this energy, resulting in rebellious, strange, or erratic behavior.

On a transpersonal level, Uranus is the Great Awakener. Thus, strong Uranus aspects can correspond with either breakthroughs or breakdowns, depending on what is needed to raise our consciousness.

FIXED STAR ALGOL: While Uranus exactly aligned with the fixed star Algol on February 3, it is still within orb (1°12´) of the star when it squares Mars this Friday, thus activating its influence. Algol is part of the constellation Perseus, and represents Medusa's head.

In ancient astrology, Algol was called "the Demon Star," a symbol of destruction, violence, drastic change, chaos, and extreme events. Through the more enlightened lens of modern astrology, Algol represents the power of the feminine to reclaim control over her life, to resist patriarchal oppression and abuse, and to rise above victimization.

DAILY ASPECTS THIS WEEK (February February 23 - March 1, 2026):

Here are my brief interpretations of this week's most important aspects, day by day:

Monday
Mars sextile Eris: Courage and confidence enable us to advocate for ourselves and for those who have been forgotten or neglected.

Tuesday
First Quarter Moon: The Gemini Moon squares the Pisces Sun at 4:27 a.m. PST. This phase of the lunar cycle is especially important during eclipse season, and can correspond with a crucial turning point. With the Moon in Gemini, the sign of information sharing, new communications, intelligence, or reports may be involved.

Wednesday
Venus semisquare Pluto: Relationships and alliances are tested, as trust issues and suspicions may arise.
Mercury stations retrograde: The Messenger Planet will be moving backwards through Pisces from February 26 to March 20. During this three-week period, much is occurring behind the scenes that may not become apparent until after Mercury goes direct. This is a time when we learn to trust the unfolding, and also to rely more on our intuition than on what our minds may tell us.

Thursday
No major aspects are exact today.

Friday
Sun conjunct North Node: We may feel more in tune with our higher self and our soul's directives with this alignment.
Mars square Uranus: Nervous energy is high, and we may feel very restless or easily irritated. Some could act impulsively or behave erratically.
Retrograde Mercury conjunct Venus: This alignment supports heart-felt communications and helps us release and forgive the past. Because Mercury is retrograde, conversations may be only one step in a process, rather than a completion.

Saturday
Sun semisquare Eris: Irritations are possible, especially if we have ignored our true needs or played a victim or martyr role in a relationship.

Sunday
No major aspects are exact today.

If Your Birthday Is This Week (February 23 - March 1):

The planetary energies this year can assist you in aligning more fully with your spiritual path, and in integrating more of your higher self into your personality structure. As part of the growth of this year, you may need to address some lingering issues related to painful episodes of your past, and to more fully love all parts of yourself, even those you judge as "not spiritual." Creative activities that use your imagination or work with light and illusion are supported. An increased sensitivity to the collective may inspire you to take on the role of the enlightened warrior, to become involved in nonviolent resistance. (Solar Return Sun trine Jupiter, conjunct North Node, semisquare Chiron/Eris, conjunct Pallas Athena)
