The lingering eclipse energy points toward revelations, emotional breakthroughs, and new strategic insight. With powerful alignments involving Pallas Athena and the approaching Chiron–Eris activation, this week may expose hidden truths while encouraging compassion, spiritual growth, and wiser responses to personal and collective challenges.

Overview: March 9 - 15, 2026
ECLIPSE SEASON CONTINUES: The climax of our first eclipse season of 2026 occurred with last week's Total Lunar Eclipse, but we will continue to move through these intense energies of change for another week or so. Astrologers differ in their understanding of how long eclipse seasons last—in my view, it officially ends at the time of the next non-eclipse lunation.
This means that major events associated with the eclipses will likely be with us until the New Moon on March 18. That being said, since that New Moon will activate the effects of the Saturn-Neptune alignment, it may feel like eclipse season is still with us for a bit longer than usual.
JUPITER STATIONS DIRECT: Giant planet Jupiter is virtually at a standstill now as it prepares to change direction this week. When a planet comes to its station, to go either retrograde or direct, its influence in our lives is increased. Jupiter is currently traveling through sensitive Cancer, so we may find that we feel our own emotions more deeply now, and also that we are more empathic and more easily absorb the moods of the people around us, or even of the collective.
As Jupiter stations, it is within one degree of the fixed star Sirius and thus will amplify that star's energies. Known commonly as the "Dog Star," Sirius is the brightest star in our night skies. As astrologer Roderick Kidston explains in his book The Magic of the Stars, the fixed star has two very different potential manifestations:
"Sirius is a spiritual star of truly immense power and it traditionally offers success and fame. It is a star of magic, through the ability to harness hidden forces and create something new, by working with subtle energies and making them manifest in the material realm. However, Sirius can also be turbulent and dangerous. It is one of the stars of hubris, leading to the retribution of an appropriate nemesis."
On a spiritual level, Sirius radiates the energies of Divine Love and transmits them to humanity. Channel Sanaya Roman has written: "Sirius is the star of liberation, love, freedom, and initiation. It strongly influences events on the earth plane. You can work with the Sirius energy to stay clear and balanced, to have an open heart, to free yourself from negative energies, and to be magnetic to all you need to fulfill your purpose."
PALLAS ATHENA: The asteroid Pallas Athena is in the spotlight this week as it conjoins Mercury on Monday and trines Jupiter on Wednesday. Athena represents the principle of creative intelligence and blends both feminine and masculine traits in her role as the goddess of Wisdom, Healing, Justice, and Strategy. One of her totems is Owl, which represents higher wisdom and the ability to see form in the darkness.
Currently in Pisces, Athena's gift to us is the wisdom of compassion, which comes as we recognize the suffering in the world as well as the universal desire for happiness. Used receptively, Athena helps open our perceptions and our hearts through guided imagery, spiritual practices, and dream work. Using her energies proactively, we might take on the role of a healer or that of an enlightened warrior who uses nonviolent resistance.
With Mercury now retrograde, we can best use its alignment with Athena on Monday to make ourselves available to inspired visions and intuitive awareness. This may be most easily achieved through meditating, writing in a journal, or other forms of introspection.
The trine between Jupiter and Athena this Wednesday is especially significant, given that Jupiter is at a standstill. This harmonious aspect enhances our emotional intelligence and our capacity to creatively express compassion. We are likely to be more confident in building strategies to help us navigate current challenges, and to find hope in our ability to see the larger picture.
CHIRON/ERIS: The Chiron-Eris alignment in Aries will be exact on March 19, but it is activated next Sunday by both Mercury and Mars, as the two planets conjoin in Pisces and are semisquare Chiron and Eris.
This combination of aspects is likely to reveal (even more) painful truths and hidden agendas, so that they can be seen, named, and transmuted. With Mercury retrograde, some information we receive might be only pieces of the puzzle, or will need further study to understand. Still, with Mars involved in the dynamic, some may choose to act even though they have incomplete data.
DAILY ASPECTS THIS WEEK (March 9 - 15, 2026):
Here are my brief interpretations of this week's most important aspects, day by day:
Monday
Mercury conjunct Pallas Athena: Our mental and intuitive faculties are enhanced today, making it a good time for meditation, journaling, or creative writing.
Venus sextile Pluto: Relationships benefit from sharing insights, being honest about our needs, and being willing to take risks.
Tuesday
Sun semisquare Pluto: Issues of trust and control can disturb our inner calm. We may be irritated over attempts to manipulate or intimidate.
Jupiter stations direct: Jupiter has been retrograde since November 11, 2025. Over the past four months, the door to self-understanding has been fully opened, while the door to external growth may have felt closed. Jupiter has been teaching us to have faith even when the proof of progress seems scarce. As the giant planet begins to move forward over the coming days and weeks, we are supported in taking action on the personal and spiritual insights we have received.
Wednesday
Jupiter trine Pallas Athena: Creative ideas and emotional intelligence are enhanced with this aspect.
Thursday
No major aspects are exact today.
Friday
Mars conjunct North Node: We may be aware of a strong urge to take steps to fulfill a higher vision or to advance our spiritual growth. Actions are motivated by compassion and altruism, or a desire to connect with something greater than ourselves. The challenge is to set aside the ego's need to be in control and to follow higher guidance.
Saturday
Mars semisquare Chiron, semisquare Eris: We may be easily irritated or offended with these aspects. Some may react with anger that is out of proportion to the situation.
Sunday
Retrograde Mercury conjunct Mars: When these two planets join energies, people tend to be more forthright and direct in their communications. However, since both planets are in Pisces and Mercury is moving backward, it is advised to imagine everything we speak as traveling up from the heart instead of coming from the mind or ego.
Retrograde Mercury semisquare Eris, semisquare Chiron: People may take words very personally today and react defensively.
