The Pathway to Integrated Living

What if the way forward isn't through grim determination, but through laughter shared with neighbors? What if the antidote to isolation isn't more self-improvement, but more celebration? We've been taught that serious problems require serious faces, but maybe what we really need is the courage to gather, to dance, to feel the old human pleasure of being together.
The focus for today is:
We must inspire people to come together with joy, because joy is the ultimate experience of happiness and the essential desire of our lives.
Today's message is inspired by Cecile Andrews, author of the book: Living Room Revolution: A Handbook for Conversation, Community and the Common Good
As Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. reminded us, we must shift from a "thing-oriented" society to a "person-oriented" society. Andrews shows us how: through what she calls "dancing in the streets"—not literally (though why not?), but through any communal practice that evokes genuine happiness and solidarity. Farmers markets, neighborhood potlucks, study circles where people actually laugh—these aren't distractions from the work of change. They are the work. Because a depressed, cynical, lonely people won't build anything together. Only joy will move us.
